Studying in Germany
Germany as a study location becomes more and more attractive: Internationally oriented university degrees like Bachelor or Master, study courses in English and an incentive scheme, which allows the accumulation and transfer of course and exam achievements.
Scholarships and grants for Pakistani students wishing to study in Germany are offered by different German Institutions. For example, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for certain Master programmes as well as research grants. In addition, some German Universities offer a small number of scholarships for specific programmes.

Weimar has the best international university in Germany
From welcome breakfasts to friendship programmes, German universities come up with lots of interesting ways of making it easier for international students to settle into their new surroundings. The DAAD offers them a combined scholarship and support programme (STIBET), which is funded by the Federal Foreign Office. It supports introductory events and country evenings as well as specialist support for foreign doctoral students. Projects like Die Brücke (The Bridge) in Münster have developed their own special approaches and act as examples for other universities.

More than 30 scientists from Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa took part in the "DAAD Alumni Life Science Conference" from 19-21 September 2011 on the campus of the National Agricultural Research Council in Islamabad. Former DAAD scholarship holders often assume key positions in the fields of politics, research, business and culture in their home countries. They are therefore important partners for Germany. In order to ensure these global ties remain active over many years, the DAAD, with backing from the Federal Foreign Office, supports its alumni after they have completed their studies.
Alumni work
The Federal Foreign Office funds a variety of scholarship programmes, which are important for the implementation of its research and academic relations policy. The programmes enable the top international specialists of tomorrow to undertake periods of study or research in Germany. At the same time, they lay the foundation for research partnerships with the world’s best minds. Jun Zhu, a lawyer from China and doctoral student in Göttingen, is one of them. Like many highly qualified young graduates from abroad, he receives financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
