German Senior Experts visit the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi to train PhD students. 

Lately, German Prof. Koyro of the University of Giessen/Germany engaged into a research project on halophyte plants in cooperation with the Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilization (ISHU) at the University of Karachi.



German Foundations regularly hold seminars at Pakistani universities and other educational institutes

Hanns Seidel Foundation Pakistan in collaboration with the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi organized a two-day regional workshop on ‘Restructuring SAARC’ in March 2010. Well known scholars from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan and Pakistan presented papers on various topics.

DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service in Pakistan

The German Academic Exchange Service supports initiatives of academic cooperation in various fields. From 4th to 7th May 2010, Ms Ursula Saarbeck, Director of the DAAD Information Center Islamabad, visited Karachi to meet representatives of the academia in order to investigate further possibilities of cooperation. A dinner in her honour was held on 5th May 2010 at the residence of the German Consul General.

Pak-German Cultural Relations: A visit to the Inaugural Ceremony of NED School

The Press & Cultural Department of the German Consulate Karachi, represented by Mrs. Gudrun Haider, Vice Consul for Press, Culture and Education and Mr. Ali R. Akhtar, Press & Public Relations Officer, attended the Inaugural Ceremony for "Extending Services of NED School to Children of General Public" on 19th April 2010. Germany supports NED University: Since beginning of this year, a German professor of the Beuth-Hochschule Berlin is teaching computer science at the NED University as a visiting professor.
