The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany presented the photo-exhibition

"Troubadours of Allah” (The Spirit of Sufi Music)

at the Goethe-Institut Pakistan in Karachi.

Enlarge image This exhibition displayed pictures taken by Horst A. Friedrichs, portraying Sufi-Musicians i South-Asia and capturing the essence of Sufi-Spiritualitywithin the culture and faces of its devotees. The Pictures of this collection were shot in the Indus Valley in Sindh.

About the Artist:

Horst A. Friedrichs

Horst A. Friedrichs was born in Frankfurt in 1966, and studied at the Photography School, Munich.

From 1990 to 1994 he was a freelance Photo-journalist from Stern, Marian, the New York Times and the “Independent” Magazine.

His Frequent travels have taken him to - among other places - Venezuela, Pakistan, Mali and Japan. Since 1997 Horst A. Friedrichs has been living and working in London as a photo-journalist. His book of pictures, “Troubadours of Allah”, co-written with Peter Pannke, has published by Frederking & Thaler.

The exhibition was inaugurated with an introduction by the renowned musician and writer Peter Pannke.
