The Press & Cultural Department of the German Consulate Karachi, represented by Mrs. Gudrun Haider, Vice Consul for Press, Culture and Education and Mr. Ali R. Akhtar, Press & Public Relations Officer, visited Sohail Hashmi, Film-Producer and Director, at his office at M/S MediaCity / ChannelTek on June 29, 2010.
Mr. Hashmi has visited the renowned German Film Festival „Berlinale“ in Berlin on an international program for filmmakers sponsored by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs in February 2010.

Mr. Hashmi - who is known amongst others for the production of the detective series H.I.T. which was shown on Geo TV - elaborated that the trip had made him „fall so much in love with Germany that in spite of being a Pakistani British national he had been cheering for the German team against England during the recent football match".
The German Consulate General Karachi and Mr. Sohail Hashmi intend to continue and intensify the friendly bilateral relations by finding further areas and possibilities of collaboration.
