Farida Parveen (Bangladesh) has been singing for more than thirty years and is considered as the leading sufi singer of her country.

She had travelled to many countries promoting and upholding our heritage of rich folk music. As an ambassador of Lalon shah’s songs (who certainly is the most influential Bangali musician and poet) she has gained huge appreciation. In 1987, she received Ekushey Padak (one of the highest awards in Bangladesh). In 2008, she won the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize for Best Music in Japan

This concert was organized in collaboration with the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Karachi and the Goethe-Institut Pakistan.
