German Chief of Defence Staff in Pakistan
The Chief of Defence Staff of the German Bundeswehr, General Volker Wieker, visited Pakistan from 17 to 20 January 2011 focussing on talks about the partnership between the armed forces of both countries and the situation in the neighbouring state of Afghanistan. Wieker was received with military honours by General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee,and held talks with the Pakistani Minister of Defence, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, and Pakistan's Army Chief, General Ashfaq Kayani.
