The creativity, dynamism and efficiency of Germany's economy have led it into the premier league of leading industrialized nations. Attractiveness for foreign investors is crucial in this, for their investments create or preserve jobs and help further develop technology. Therefore, Germany's system of external economic promotion is supported by Government and business alike.
The three main pillars are:

- The foreign missions (embassies and consulates general)

- German Office for Foreign Trade (Germany Trade & Invest)

- German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (not existing in Pakistan)

The Pakistan German Business Forum was founded in 1997 and is engaged in serving the further development of the Pakistan German trade and investment cooperation. With  members across Pakistan from different business sectors, PGBF is one of the most established business fora  in Pakistan. The Pakistan German Business Forum works in close cooperation with the German Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulate General in Karachi as well as the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin.
