The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Christian Brecht, and the representative of the Don Bosco Home for Boys signed an agreement on 25.02.2011 for German financial support through which a new dining hall will be furnished.
The Don Bosco Home for Boys cares for children who are orphans or come from shattered families. All come from poor families where the relatives or single parents are unable to cope with their own lives due to poverty and have brought their children to Don Bosco to receive love, care and education.
Currently there are 65 children in the orphanage aged between 5 and 18 years. All attend local public or private English or Urdu schools although they stay at Don Bosco Home.
In order to make life at the Home a little more comfortable for the boys the German Consulate is supporting Don Bosco within the framework of a Micro-Project-Scheme providing the neccessary funds to furnish the newly renovated dining hall and kitchen area with new tables and chairs and other basic amenities.
