  1. Short-stay visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant. application form (download) - for short-term visas [pdf, 98.56k]

  2. Two (2) recent photographs of the applicant, white background. Please check photograph specifications here. information on photos [pdf, 550.79k]

  3. An invitation letter from the business partner, private or public organisation established in Germany, in the applicant’s name and indicating the purpose and trip dates. 

    Visa for trade fairs
    : No invitation letter is required for Visitors and Exhibitors. Paid fair ticket as visitor or proof of stall booking, fair ticket, invoice and payment as exhibitor (for TDAP group participants as well), and hotel booking have to be submitted.

  4. Original signed letter of the applicant’s company/employer stating name, position, salary, duration of employment, address and contact numbers of the employer, purpose and duration of visit to the Schengen state(s). Proof of business contacts, e.g. export papers, etc.

  5. Supporting documents of the company's/organisation’s income:

    - Original bank statements of the last six months

    - National Tax Number Certificate (NTN) for the previous two years and proof of income tax payment (FBR)

    - Chamber of Commerce Certificate valid for the current year

    - Recommendation for business visa from the Chamber of Commerce

  6. Confirmed hotel reservation and copy of flight reservation.

  7. An ordinary passport or other recognised travel document valid for at least three months from the expiry date of the visa applied for. This document must have at least two empty pages. Please bring previous passports, if any, and attach with application copies, on A4 size paper, of used pages, copies of Schengen, US, UK, Canada, Australia visas. Photocopy of your national ID card. Police report if previous passports lost.

  8. If you have been refused a visa by an Embassy or High Commission, written explanation about reason for trip and refusal letter.

  9. Supporting documents of personal income:

    - Original bank statements of the last six months

    -
    National Tax Number Certificate (NTN) for the previous two years and proof of income tax payment (FBR)

    - last three salary slips

    If the applicant is the proprietor of a company, he must attach:

  11. Appointment email confirmation and AMEX slip to return the passport.

  13. Original AND copy of a travel medical insurance policy of not less than 30,000 Euros. The policy must cover medical and hospitalisation expenses for the entire period of valid stay on Schengen territory as well as repatriation costs.   14. Third country nationals residing in Pakistan must provide supporting documents attesting to the legality and the authorized duration of their residence here.

Original documents not needed will be returned with passport but only if copies are provided by applicant as requested

Obligation to declare cash in amounts of EUR 10,000 or more entering or leaving the EU

All travellers entering or leaving the European Union with €10,000 or more in cash must declare the sum to Customs from 15 June 2007. This initiative has been taken to assist the efforts being made at EU level to tackle crime and improve security by cracking down on money laundering, terrorism and criminality.

Application forms are also available at the visa section - free of charge. Persons outside the visa section offering their services for the visa procedure neither work for nor work with the consent of the visa section. In case these persons do promise any favour regarding the issuance of a visa, please report to the visa officer at the counter.

For applications at the Embassy Islamabad, please note that at the time of application an amount of 500,- PKR is due for returning the passports through a courier service. 
While submitting the application, you will be given a pay slip. Please take this slip to the Standard Chartered Bank, Diplomatic Enclave Branch only, and pay the visa fee. The bank will report your payment to the Embassy. A fee of 700,- PKR will be levied by the bank.
If your appointment falls on an official banking holiday,
the payment of fees cannot be settled the same day.

For applications at the Consulate General Karachi, please note that the visa fee (equivalent in PKR) has to be paid in CASH at time of submission.

All documents need to be presented in original and in copies.

Copies of your application have to be:

- in Din A4 size
- complete
- readable
- not (!) stapled

The German Missions reserve the right to request additional documents

Applications will only be accepted and processed after the submission of all required documents - failure to do so will result in the refusal of the visa.

Applicants are kindly asked to note that compliance with the afore mentioned conditions does not automatically guarantee that a visa will be issued.

Even with a valid visa, the competent German border authorities may refuse entry into the territory of Germany. In such cases, the Government of Germany accepts no liability.
