Three Pillars in External Economic Promotion
The creativity, dynamism and efficiency of Germany's economy have led it into the premier league of leading industrialized nations. Attractiveness for foreign investors is crucial in this, for their investments create or preserve jobs and help further develop technology. Therefore, Germany's system of external economic promotion is supported by Government and business alike.
The three main pillars are:
- The foreign missions (embassies and consulates general)
- German Office for Foreign Trade (Germany Trade & Invest)
- German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (not existing in Pakistan)
The German Embassy - in cooperation with the Pakistan German Business Forum (PGBF), German-linked companies and German institutions in Pakistan - held a series of events to present the multitude of linkages between Germany and Pakistan and to display their activities in Pakistan in a concise and vivid manner.

Germany ratified the "Agreement on the Encouragement and Reciprocal Protection of Investments" between Pakistan and Germany on Friday, 08 July 2011.

German AeroLogic GmbH started operations to Pakistan
AeroLogic, one of the top 5 European air cargo carriers, owned by Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Deutsche Post DHL through their subsidiaries Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express, started its weekly operation in Pakistan on 27 March 2011 at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.
With its headquarter in Leipzig/Schkeuditz, the company has its own air operating certificate, its own traffic rights, and its own slots. It is responsible for aircraft, crews, route networks and all flight operations focussing on the goods exchange between Europe and Asia.
The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the German Near- and Middle-East Association (NUMOV) organized the trip of a German Business Delegation to Pakistan from 14th to 17th Sept 2010.

On 28 February 2009, a German-Pakistani Spring Festival was held at the Holztec farmhouse in Lahore. Around 200 guests attended the Gala which was sponsored by German companiesbased in Pakistan in cooperation with the German Embassy Islamabad in order to celebrate German-Pakistani ties in the fields of politics, the economy and culture.

During the second half of 2008 and the first half of 2009, the German Embassy organised a touring exhibition about Renewable Energy to Pakistan. The exhibition was displayed at the Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, at the office of the Aga Khan Rural Support Porgramme Islamabad, at the Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, at the Enercon Building Islamabad, at the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Sialkot, Faisalabad, Lahore and Gujrat as well as at the Goethe-Institut. Karachi (in cooperation with the German Consulate General Karachi).
